Make Hollow Search your default

Search from your browser’s address bar with Hollow Search. Visit this site once first: browsers that support OpenSearch then offer Hollow Search as an engine, with suggestions as you type.

Chrome

  1. Open Settings, then Search engine, then Manage search engines and site search.
  2. If Hollow Search is listed under Inactive shortcuts or Site search, choose Activate. Otherwise choose Add next to Site search and enter the name Hollow Search, the shortcut search.projecthollow.com and the URL below.
  3. Open the menu next to Hollow Search and choose Make default.

Edge

  1. Open Settings, then Privacy, search and services, then Address bar and search.
  2. Choose Manage search engines. If Hollow Search is not listed, choose Add and enter the name, the shortcut and the URL below.
  3. Open the menu next to Hollow Search and choose Make default.

Firefox

  1. On this site, right-click the address bar and choose Add “Hollow Search”.
  2. Open Settings, then Search, and choose Hollow Search under Default Search Engine.

Safari

Safari only offers its own fixed list of search engines and cannot use a custom one as the default, so Hollow Search cannot be set there. You can still bookmark this site.

Anywhere else

Any browser or tool that takes a custom search URL can use this one, where %s stands for your search:
